Christmas VS Consumerism

I think Consumerism is winning.

Today, two of my grandchildren went to the Mall to visit Santa Claus. They were very excited to tell him what they wanted for Christmas.

The 10 year-old asked for a skateboard.

The 4 year-old asked for

A GIFT CERTIFICATE TO TARGET!!!

I was consumed with laughter and tears at the same time.

  1. Wow... least the 4 year old knows whats up! :) This year we asked the kids if Santa could give us money to take a trip to Florida instead of giving them presents and they all agreed :) Florida here we come! Nice way to trade consumerism for memories :)

  2. The Nike Air Max 1(aka Nike Air Max or Nike Air Max 87 was released in a variety of colors and fabric combinations which have given it a contempory flavor. The first retro of the Air Max 1 came in 1992. Nike used the soles of the Air Max 90 to save money on production of this shoe. Due to the mismatch of the upper to sole, this version has been in high demand to find. All of the retros in 1992 were leather, but Nike went back to its roots when it brought our the Nike Air Max 1 again in nylon versions in 1995.
The Nike Air Max 1 has been released in more colors than any one collector has possessed. The Nike Air Max 1 is commonly used for limited releases such as for the opening of the store Atmos, Kid Robot, and there was a special one made for an Amsterdam only release.
