The Week That Was

It was an interesting week. I had guests for the week. It was a great, and sometimes trying, week with another adult and two small children around full time. Now don't get me wrong, it is great to have family visit and to see and spend time with those that you only see occasionally. But when you are use to the peace and quite of a household without children around, you begin to miss it shortly after their arrival.

We did all the usual touristy things, hung out with friends, and made a trip to Disneyland. Disneyland was not a crowded as I expected. Must be the economy getting to people. Usually the day after Thanksgiving is a zoo there. This year, not so much. The lines were noticeably shorter. But, god, everything is soooo overpriced. Still, we had a good time and the kids were ecstatic.

So, now it is Sunday. Everyone is gone and it is time for things to get back to normal -- whatever normal is.

And I have a plumbing story to tell, but that will have to wait until later. I have something else I must do right now.

  1. ...i do Understand.

My 12 year old (almost 13) is gone each weekend for over 6 years... from Friday to Sunday (or Monday if it is a no day school).

In the summer he is gone Thursday 2:00 pm to Sunday 6:00 Pm..

Aww..I enjoy him so very much; because I also know I can have an Adult Quiet and Serene Weekend..

It is a win-win to be divorce.... both parents get relaxation time; and then are recharged to give a child so much more constructive active attention when it is their time... more patient... more peace too..

And another great thing... Adult Children being out of the house; but visiting with them weekly or so... and enjoying a new type of relationship... more equals (and no more codependencies;...letting them lead their own lives; but still be a part of their livest too.

    peace.. lol

Glad you got to spend time with family.

  2. I hope the plumbing adventure did not overlap with the visiting family, I know how stressful/rewarding both can be!

  4. How would you do a reverse license plate number lookup? I would like to know if there is any type of way you can type in a license plate number on the internet and see the identify of the individual if it is associated to or the address of that person. Can anyone help me? It's an Illinois plate with S by the end of it. Please e-mail me if you're able to perform a search or post if you know how you can do a free one. Thanks a lot.
