... I live in Southern California.
Here is what I saw while out walking the dogs this afternoon.
Yep! An ice cream truck. Here it is the middle of January and the ice cream trucks are out. Of course it was sunny and about 75°F also.
Please don't hate me.

I want to hate you.. but you are too nice.
ReplyDeleteI know about California. I'm on the Al-anon phone bridges and everyone introduces themselves by first name and what state they are from..
I get so jealous when I hear California; Florida; Texas.. HAWAII.. horribly jealous.. when I'm going out with four layers underneath an oversize coat.. lol
Tomorrow it is going up to 35 degrees.. I am so thrilled.. and it'll be 41 and 42 later on this week.. Summer weather to me.. lol.
I don't hate you Jerry but I do envy your sunshine and warmth! We've been frigid this week and some are saying a blizzard is coming in February. I'm actually looking forward to that blizzard tho!
ReplyDeleteNo hate... well not from me, but John may beg to differ :) He's ready to pack his shit up at a moment's notice and move to a warmer climate! :)
ReplyDeleteHere in Chicago we don't have to pay for our ice - we get that for free.
ReplyDelete(Oh, you meant ice cream!)
:-)
Well Chris, we have to pay for our ice also.
ReplyDeleteThink your state is about the only one not affected by this cold spell... even Florida is getting blasted.
ReplyDeleteI say, enjoy your good weather, Jerry. :o)
Even here in the deep south we are having lows in the 20s and highs in the 30s, we are 20 degrees plus below normal, but there is a warm up coming, but not enough to bring the ice cream trucks out.
ReplyDeleteScrew you Critter. I had to shovel my freaking driveway four times in 3 below temps because of the 30 mph wind.
ReplyDeleteDamn right I hate you. If it weren't in bad taste at this time I would remind you that an earthquake is going to to hit California soon enough.
Truth,
ReplyDeleteWe have snow in Southern California also, but it is "smart" snow. It stays in the mountains where it belongs. If we want snow, we go to it instead of it coming to us whether we want it or not.
Jerry
ReplyDeleteThis pic makes me miss living in SoCal. When I lived there Long Beach was really nice, so was Huntington Beach... visited about 10 years ago and was horrified by LB. Lived off of Rhondo Blvd on Newport Street, after which we moved to Huntington Beach b/c of the better school system that was invaded upon by the Vietnamese. Point is... Ice Cream trucks are a rarity in these parts! Did you get one?
Working on a comment at CDM so check back there.

So how's your warm weather holding up, Jerry? By what I'm hearing on the news, you're in for some pretty nasty rain in the upcoming days.
ReplyDeleteHi Karen,
ReplyDeleteRight now (10:33 am) it is partly sunny and 63°F headed for a high in the low 70's. Yes, there appears to be some rain coming in a couple of days. A nasty rain around here is about one inch of rain spread out over 24 hours. Expect temperatures during the nasty rain is low 60's.
I grew up in Seattle, so I consider a couple of days of rain as "partly sunny" weather. It is not really rain unless it lasts for more than a week.
I can't hate you, but I can be a little bit jealous of you. :)
ReplyDeleteElizabeth,
ReplyDeleteWe are getting "Portland weather" for the next three or four days. Rain. But our temperatures will still be in the low 60's so it is not too bad.
I grew up in Seattle, so it is not really rain unless it has been raining for at least a week.
REALLY??? Well at least you grew up in seattle.. you've served your time.. or whatever. ha.
ReplyDeleteOh and the grass is soooo luscious! I can't wait for spring here in the oddball state of MN (defeated at the moment).
