I heard Rasmussen is a right leaning poll, if thats true then this is understandable. The righties love torturing people, look what they do to us every day!!
ReplyDeleteYeah, Rasmussen is right leaning, but still, when only 30% say we shouldn't waterboard him, it makes me sad for our fellow Americans.

ReplyDeleteYou're right. It is a dumb poll. It's like asking what should you do to the person that beats up your sister, or rapes your wife. These are acts that make you want revenge. But a country, a government, a system of laws should not and cannot operate on revenge.
ReplyDeleteThe republicans promote fear, enhance feeling of revenge, and turn it into votes. Truth gets lost along the way.

ReplyDeleteCivil liberties rarely poll well. I suspect you'd get similar margins in favor of repealing Miranda, for example. After all, the police NEVER arrest the wrong man... ;-)
ReplyDeleteI wish the big shot Dems would start doing some leading question polls like the right wing groups do. Then make sure they et plenty of media exposure.
ReplyDeletePerhaps a question like "Do you think that selfish, greedy rich people that keep money in foreign bans that support terrorists should be waterboarded?"
"Do you think high ranking government officials that out covert CIA operatives should be waterboarded?"
Dang Jerry. If you put it that way, even a Lib like me thinks these creeps need a good waterboarding.
I would settle for some of them to be brought to justice.
