Last night Keith Olbermann did a segment with Eugene Robinson from the Washington Post about the candidate running in Ohio's ninth congressional district, Rich Iott, a weekend Nazi reenactor.
Olberman asked, "[At] any other time in our history, wouldn't the press, left, right, and middle, just for the sake of the story, be screaming for the rooftops, hey, look, alot of crazy people running for office?"
Here is Robinson's answer.
I love his first line.
"You've got a witch,...a raging homophobe,...a guy who dresses up like a nazi for fun..."
There's the Tea Party for you. And people seriously want these wackos running the country?

Again I must ask.
ReplyDeleteDo these wackos tell us more about them. Or do they tell us more about the caliber of candidates that the Republican party can come up with.
We are making a mistake by separating the Tea Party from the Republican party.
They are one in the same.
That wannabe Nazi in dress up drag should remember two things.
Stalingrad! !
Nuremberg Trials ! !

I think these wackos tell us so much about the GOP and who they can come up with to go against the democrats. They got nuttin' and they know it! This teabagger party was formed because the thugs were a dying breed, but the teabaggers have sunk their ship...
ReplyDeleteI don't think that ship will sink. I am not even sure it is taking on water.
ReplyDeleteI agree. The Tea Party and GOP are one. Fear is a great uniter.
It also tells us a lot about the Democrats. The Democrats should crush the Tea-GOP candidates. But they are not. That leaves me with two choices. Either the Democrats are inept or they are in cahoots with them.
I don't like either choice. I wish there was a third one.
JC
ReplyDeleteI totally agree.
There is a third choice.
Total collapse.
Why not. We do not obey the rule of law any way no matter who is in power.
Reports are coming out that the White house will not stop the foreclosure mess.
If they do not put a moratorium on the foreclosures till this is straightened out then they will once again show who they bow to.
The EFFEN Banksters do not have to obey the law, but we do.
I am not 2 months behind.
We shall see.
come on guys, you're so gloomy! Even fivethirtyeight is saying this an hour ago...
ReplyDeleteModest Gains for Democrats in Gubernatorial Forecast
Hardballs polling has dems up all over the country except for Wisconsin. I think we are gonna shock the piss outta the GOP in November! :-)
oops [not]should be now
ReplyDeleteI like your optimism, Sue, but...
ReplyDeleteI am optimistic and I would choose dem candidates over thugs any day of the week even tho they are not perfect. Who ever said dems were??? You guys have to know its 2 parties not 3 and never will be three, so who would you rather have in leadership roles? The only fighting we should be doing is for more progressive dems, NOT giving up on our party all together. What good is that gonna do? You guys sound too wimpy, man up ya hear!! :-)(I still love ya even tho you're wimps....)
ReplyDeleteSarah Palin, O'Donnell, Rand Paul, Ken Buck, John Raese, Art Robinson, Rich Iott, Jan Brewer, Joe Miller, and on and on are willing to engage in slash-and-burn rhetoric often because they are receiving or will receive millions in payoffs. The millions seem like Vast Wealth to them but are nothing to the Koch Brothers and the Plutocratic Assholes who are using America to steal Trillions.
ReplyDeleteThe Republican Party has become so compromised by their Moneyed Masters that they will elevate these persons with learning disabilities because they know they can be trusted to vote to enact the Plutocratic Desires for Wage Slavery and Death to be imposed on the American People.
