Pawlenty VS Bachmann

I found it very interesting when Pawlenty came out and said,
But her record of accomplishment in Congress is nonexistent. It’s nonexistent. And so we’re not looking for folks who, you know, just have speech capabilities, we’re looking for people who can lead a large enterprise in a public setting and drive it to conclusion. I’ve done that, she hasn’t.
I love it when republicans eat their own.

I like her response, even better.
I have fought the cap-and-trade agenda, rather than implement it, and I will work to end cap-and-trade as President of the United States. I stood up against President Obama’s support of the $700 billion bailout rather than defend it.

I was a leading voice, fighting against Obamacare and the unconstitutional individual mandates; I did not lift my voice in praise of it. My message brought tens of thousands of Americans to Washington D.C. to oppose Obamacare. As President I will not rest until Obamacare is repealed. And I will not vote to raise the debt ceiling.
Let's break down what she said.
  • Fought against implementation of cap-and-trade
  • Will work to end cap-and-trade
  • Was against the $700 billion dollar bailout
  • Was a leading voice against Obamacare
  • Thinks individual mandates are unconstitutional
  • Wants to repeal Obamacare
  • Will not vote to raise the debt limit
All of her stated accomplishments are NOT accomplishments.  They are all things she will NOT do.  These are things she is against.  They are basically INactions, NONactions.  And they are more things she will not do in future, rather than things she has done in the past.

Looks like all talk and no action.

Sounds to me like Pawlenty was right.

  3. w-d,
I agree. Bachmann is crazier and she will stay in as long as there is money and press in it for her. That's all she cares about. Kind of like Sarah in that respect.

  4. they both gag me, neither can beat Obama. I love the sound bite of her saying "I will do....as President of the United States", Damn can ya imagine?? Bachmann as President?? The country didn't feel comfortable with a highly qualified Hillary Clinton BUT Bachmann thinks the country will vote for her over Obama?? Sorry Jerry, it's stunning!

  6. Both of these two are opportunistic, very self-centered EXTREMISTS. Neither of them is really qualified to hold ANY public office! What a couiple of fruitcakes!

  7. If you watch and listen closely to Republicans past and current, you can't help but notice their intentions are nearly all negative and regressive. They don't have an agenda when it comes to positive things that help identify and eliminate or ease problems for most people. Republicans don't want to do things that will help most Americans because they don't want people to believe their government can or will ever do good, helpful things. Besides, if they were to try, they might have to add or enlarge an agency. You can imagine what would Grover Norquist, Rush Limbaugh and the Koch brothers have to say about that.

The closest Republicans have come to putting forth anything helpful in decades was Medicare Part D. But that turned out to be designed by Big Pharma to benefit Big Pharma first and foremost. When Democrats criticized it as being a big plum for industry, Republicans didn't deny it or argue about it. They wanted industry to know it was mainly for their benefit. They wanted the 27 percenters who form the right-wing base to know it as well.

Republican pols and operatives aren't a political party, really. They're a highly organized pressure group, basically a lobbying shop that works for a few extremely selfish and determined segments of society.

Bachmann exemplifies what today's Republican/conservative pols are like. Her record of non-accomplishment in Congress echoes George W. Bush's lack of accomplishment anywhere.

  8. Jerry, Palin dangled the possibility of a presidential run to advance her brand, make money and enjoy the attention. If I read Bachmann right, she really wants to move into 1600 Pennsylvania Ave., operate the levers of presidential power, and believes she has a credible shot at it.

Considering how America's voters passed over John Kerry (by a slim margin, but still) to re-elect George W. Bush, in spite of all that was known about Bush's perversity and incompetence, and the corruption surrounding him, Bachmann has good reason to believe she has a realistic chance.

The sorry truth is, there's no telling how flaky, shallow and poorly prepared a presidential candidate has to be before the voting public will reject them. We could one day look back on the Bush years as the good old day.s

  9. Bachmann has migraines due to her having to remember constantly that her husband is in the closet, thus he is seeking a cure for being gay himself.

  10. I hate to say this but Bachmann is not an unattractive woman. It's kind of too bad that she has to make those utterances.

  11. Will,
You point out an unfortunate reality of the American voter. An attractive person, particularly a woman, has a better chance of getting elected because of her looks, and looks has absolutely nothing to do with her ability to do the job.

  12. Skinny people and people with a full head of hair also have advantages. We couldn't be any more superficial of a society if we tried.
