Thanks For The Jobs...NOT!

US corporations had the best 3rd quarter earnings since the government started keeping track over 60 years ago.  And you know what?  They are hiring again.  Yes folks, they are hiring.  They are creating jobs.  BUT, the jobs are overseas.
The Economic Policy Institute, a Washington think tank, says American companies have created 1.4 million jobs overseas this year, compared with less than 1 million in the U.S. The additional 1.4 million jobs would have lowered the U.S. unemployment rate to 8.9 percent, says Robert Scott, the institute's senior international economist.

And republicans want to cut their taxes more.  Why, so they can help the Chinese economy?

  1. That this happened at all is outrageous, but that it happened without MASSIVE worker feedback is TRULY outrageous! Ever union and non-union employee in this country should go on a week-long strike in protest against this corporate greed!

  2. The American worker has just stood by and let corporate America shit all over them for far too long. It is time for ACTION---NOW!!!!!

  3. These jobs are never ever coming back.
All the Global Corps are American in name only.
They are all building plants over seas
Caterpillar, G.M., Coca Cola you name it.
This is where the growth of the future is.
This is where there is cheap [slave] labor.
This is where there is no environmental or labor over sight.
Most are going to the Asia Pacific region.
Africa will not be far behind.
India and Brazil are chugging ahead at full speed.
China has 20% of their population in the middle class bracket. In 10years it will be 40% of their people will be in the middle class.
These countries and regions are in the process of building their own consumer base economy.
They will soon no longer be dependent on the American consumer.
Our middle class and our consumer base will be a foot note in the very near future.
Now austerity will come to America.
We are entering the lost decade, or two, or three.

  4. America's unions are a major driving force for outsourcing. I've seen it happen all the time in nearby communities.

Considering the auto industry, there's nothing sustainable about paying workers $60+ an hour (three times the fair wage) for making significantly below-average shoddy cars.

  5. Well, dmarks, you think a fair wage is $20 per hour. That's less than 40,000 per year. I guess you want to lower everyone's standard of living. I wonder how many business executives would be willing to work for your "fair wage"?

  6. Also, dmarks, I think you are giving the unions way took much influence. Only about 12% of workers belong to a union.

And, the auto industry is not shipping jobs overseas. In fact, foreign auto makers are moving manufacturing to the US. It is one of the few industries to do so.

  7. Unions are now just a mere shadow of themselves.
I live in Az. which is a right to work state.
Same as most of the southern states are.
With austerity coming to America, States filing bankruptcy.
    Unions will be totally gone.
When we grew up the Teamsters had major pull.
They could bring this country to a stop.
    Those days are over.
The country will now put a stop to the unions.

  8. Also dmarks doesn't care to mention that the heavily unionized Japanese and German workforces aren't forcing their companies to outsource, nor that Saturn and Toyota factories in the US provide the same wage packages as the UAW.

    Doesn't fit his tired narrative.

  9. Well you'd a thunk congress would have had language to prevent this;

80% of Stimulus Dollars For Wind Power Goes to Foreign Companies- Including China.

US workers may be laid off but a Chinese company is helping build a massive wind farm in west Texas. The firm will receive $450 million in Stimulus cash. The project will save or create 300 jobs in Texas and 2,000 manufacturing jobs in China.
That sounds like a good use of taxpayer dollars, huh?
