It Takes A Democrat To Finish What A Republican Starts!

  1. I think it's notable that it wasn't an invading army that found and put an end to bin Ladin. It was a veritable surgical strike.

  2. Great poster and description of Republicans vs. Democrats. Republicans are all bluster, posturing, soundbites; Democrats quietly get the job done.

  3. Yes Tom, Democrats are the brilliant ones. They get the job done because they use their brains! Barack Obama, Commander-in-Chief, brilliant work!

  4. Amusing, but I am not sure how brilliant the democrats are. They kept the war going just as the republicans had. However, as Anderson pointed out, it was a surgical strike, and intelligence, not war, that got the job done.

  5. Amen, John. The Dems have absolutely shown that they can just as readily screw up foreign policy as the Republicans. The Gulf of Tonkin ISN'T ancient history, as far as I'm concerned.

  6. I think it is very telling if you have to go back 47 years (to 1964) to find a major Democratic foreign policy screwup that has lead to the death of hundreds, if not thousands of American lives.

  7. So this means the end of the war in Afghanistan? It's finished too???

Probably just means we will give Pakistan another $20 Bil for no good reason since they swear on a stack of religious writings that they didn't know that 6'8" murderer was living there for the last five years.

  8. I don't know, Jerry, I'm still not totally sold on Mr. Obama's surge in Afghanistan. Like your very own statistics site, more Americans have actually been killed there under Mr. Obama's tenure than Bush's.

  9. I'm not sold on Obama's Afghanistan policy either. I think we should get out, and get out now.

  10. LOL
I have gone to a few [democrat] sites and looked at the comments.

Amazing that all of you guys believe this news of OBL.

So now O is back in good standings.
He is still a war of choice president.
How many civilians have been killed in Libya at the hand of NATO?
You should all give him another Noble Peace Prize for this.

OBL left the building, and the planet years ago.

I guess the American electorate have always liked a good circus act.

  11. "OBL left the building, and the planet years ago."

If that is true, (and I am not saying it isn't) why did the republicans claim killing him shortly before 2008 election and get the political bump that Obama is now getting. It might have been enough to elect McCain.

Or did they screw up the election so much with McCain/Palin that no bump would help?

  12. The rethugs wanted no part of this cycle.
They knew how bad they effed everything up. Along with the help of some of the dems.
Putting Palin on the ticket assured that they would lose.
They sacrificed Mc Insane so that they could turn the page.
O can not pull out the economy in time for the election.
He will have to run as a bigger war president.
    Libya was the first move.
    Pakistan, might be next.

  13. I'm assuming you saw Obama's roast of Donald Trump? I was very amused.. just saying :-)

  14. Yes, Jenny. I saw it. I must say, humor is the best way to handle Trump. He is, after all, a joke.

  15. Truth be known (or at least my version of it), Jerry, we should have been out by Christmas 2002.

  16. One of the smartest things Obama could do to ensure re-election is get all or nearly all of our troops out of Iraq and Afghanistan by no later than June, 2012.

I credit Obama with being smart enough and politically astute enough to know that. Whether he's going to be smart enough to do that remains to be seen.

  17. I thought OBL was already dead too. But I don't believe President Obama lied (or was he lied to?).

  18. People here in NYC were going Wild with Glee and Relief.

I think some just were looking for an excuse to party.

It had to be done perhaps; .. but in all my spiritual studies to celebrate more violence seems sad.

Be a nice world if there was never any 'killings'. I know it sound impossible.. but nice to dream of a peaceful loving world .. no wars.. !! ( i can dream )

  19. I gave up dreaming of a world at peace 20 years ago. I now dream about the hotties through the ages Will reminds us of on his blog.

  20. In my humble undersea community, there is a controversy raging about whether it was best to kill bin Laden or capture him for trial. I've stayed away from these discussions - seeing merit in both sides of the argument and a reflection of my own ambivalence. Given a choice between performing seals versus kangaroos holding court, perhaps this is the final irony fit for our times: Carp got the last of bin Laden.

  21. No, it wasn't carp. It was lobsters according to a great carton I saw at BeeKeepers Apprentice. Not to be confused w/Celebrity Apprentice.

    See it here: http://thebeekeepersapprentice.com/?p=649

It's about half way down the post..I used it for my Sunday graphic.

  22. Dusty,
Crabs! Bin Laden has crabs. Trust me. Cephalopods know about stuff like this.

Only if the terrorists are defeated. To run away without finishing the job would be unwise.

  24. The jobs in Afghanistan and Iraq were finished long ago.
