Question of the Day

Why is the government wasting our tax dollars sending out a letter that tells me I will be receiving a 2010 census form in the mail in about 1 week? It seems like a waste to me. Someone have a good answer?

  1. I don't know if this is an adequate answer, but here goes:

    1. Tell them what you are going to tell them.

    2. Tell them.

    3. Tell them what you told them.

  2. I guess they want to warn us it's coming so we don't toss it out with the junk mail, when it comes with all the junk mail. I hate junk mail!

  3. Holte - So, after I get the census, I get to look forward to receiving another letter from them telling me that I received it? Like maybe I'm senile?

Sue - So it is more likely that I will open the first one that looks like the census letter, but is not, than the real one? I am just as likely to consider them both junk mail.

    See, I'm still confused.

  4. Because it's a heck of a lot cheaper to send out a reminder letter than to send somebody a'knocking on your door.
